I have to disagree with some and say Iām 99.999% certain iHeart is bringing back The Eagle brand, and some form of rock to 97.1. I donāt think they would tease a return like this of an heritage brand and then at 10am flip to urban, regional Mexican, or any other format. Just makes no sense.
i wouldn't surprised if the format flip was due to a combo of poor ratings and Mavs using their out clause on their radio broadcast rights deal. i'm calling it now, they move the Mavs Radio Network to WBAP or KLIF next year.
iHeart has a very competitive package that involves a lot of digital content that saves these teams lots of money.
Teams understand that radio is more than broadcasting.
The mavericks along with any sports franchise in America do not care whatās on their flagship stationās signal. As long as the check clears. the mavs will be on 97.1. Thereās no need for the team to change signals.

What kind of rock format will they flip to? I hope itās bands like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden etc.

Yeah, I just noticed that, I was recording a couple hours of the stunting (this time in stereo, unlike the 93.3 flip) and I looked over and I thought they were playing commercials, so I turned up the volumeā¦and Iām like wtf?!? š
They just had a ā97.1 The Freakā liner into a Ben & Skin QC Kinetix commercial.
did they air the mavericks post game show? when I tuned in, a several minutes after the game, I only heard stunting
