SiriusXM Uses Taylor Effect

I imagine some said the same about The Beatles back in the day.
IMHO The key difference is writing most of your songs. NBC's The Voice has some folks that really sing other people's songs. Neil Young has proved that writing a good song will get you air play. It certainly wasn't his vocal skills.

Sounds like jellosy. Iam not a fan (or hater) but you can't argue with her $ucce$$. Isn't she a Billionaire.
I hsve listened to her songs. The melody should enhance the message of the lyrics. Her's doesn't. You could sing any lyrics to her melodies, manufactured music.

UGH! Sorry but there are so many young singers who are more talented.
But none have the total appeal of personality, songs and appearance.

The closest I can see to the Taylor phenomenon is, perhaps, Frank Sinatra.

Except Sinatra didn't write his own songs but he had plenty of great ones to choose from. Sinatra's appeal also spans generations much like the Beatles,Prince, Michael Jackson and Queen.

Time will tell if Taylor's fame lasts or fades.

The Beatles were active less than a decade. The string of Michael Jackson hits was only slightly longer if we go back to his singing about a rat named Ben. Swift is just two years short of 20 years since her first hit in 2006.

In music, 18 years is a pretty good record already.

I saw an interview with Elton and he said sometimes he would be out and come home and there were lyrics slid under the door. What ever works. I have zero songwriting abilities. I went to HS just north of Nashville. I didn't even pretend to be a songwriter. I went to church with a retired employee of MCA. He said song writing will make you crazy if you aren't already.

I've had the songwriting muse but somehow it faded and never came to anything.
