Is There ANYTHING "Homey" On NBC LX Home??

JeeperOne

Banned
Seems as thoigh every time I check the channel, it's airing some TRUE CRIME show (Didn't Comcast/NBC Universal convert Oxygen to being a True Crime channel??). Not any home programming at all

Is it just me??

LX was originally a network leaning toward lifestyle and news segments geared toward Millenials and Gen-Z run out of the NBC O&O in Dallas, TX. I think it's been about a year or so since NBC shut the Dallas production portion of LX down.
Since then the channel has been a place to park paid programming. If paid programming isn't available which leaves holes in the day, they're filling those holes with programming they already own like true crime.

Except NEARLY ALL of it is True Crime. What they don't squeeze onto Oxygen & isn't Dateline (Which is it's own channel) is put there

And of THAT is produced by Filmrise

Makes you wonder why NBCU just doesn't simply make it a second True Crime channel by name since they apparently don't have enough (If any at all) Home Improvement or Home & Gardening shows to make a go of it as a "Home" channel

LX is just a NBCU O&O 'diginet' to park paid programming until they come up with something else to put on it. As I mentioned, other programs put on LX are to fill for space where paid programming isn't.

I know that but they could air live trials during the day (It would be a nice competitor to Scripps-owned Court TV & a better competitor than Cox-owned Law & Crime Network (More OTA penetration than the latter) if done right) & Documentaries overnights & on weekends

It could also air live trials from courts in Britain, New Zealand & Australia too (Something the other two networks don't do)

Before you knock it - We're talking True Crime here (You know REAL Reality TV :) )

Should we count how many channels no longer have anything to do with what their names imply? A broadcasting company gets the idea of putting some high-quality programming on a channel. Then when high-quality programming doesn't get enough viewers, out goes the quality, in comes the cheap and low-brow.

A&E = Arts and Entertainment
TLC = The Learning Channel
Disc = The Discovery Channel
HLN = Headline News
How many classical performances are on Bravo?
How many Independent Films are on IFC?
How many Sundance finalists are on the Sundance Channel?
How much History is on the History Channel?
How much Travel is on the Travel Channel?
How much Music is on MTV?
How many Video Hits are on VH-1?

ESPN it's one of a few cable channels to remain the same overall sports and talk shows where there's gossip surrounding a league that's more or less the same in it's content.

CNBC overall more or less the same in its content. These other Channels on the other hand like TLC, Discovery, HLN and Travel those are mainly labels within Max app. But that does not matter when WB and their competitors are emphasizing their best content on their respective TV apps. Also the median audience are watching from TV apps on average.

No. Because seriously, let this obsession go.
I know, right? What a strange thing to get worked up about. Anything TV seems to be a bug light for that sort of OCD.
I used to get forwarded E-mails like that at work, mainly because the public affairs folks don't know where else to send them (thanks a lot) with someone who goes on and on questioning why some programs air on one diginet than another. Like I had any say in the matter... One guy got supremely worked up because I didn't respond. Eventually, he found my work phone number and started leaving creepy 20-minute-long voicemails. His voicemails were even more rambling and incoherent than the E-mails. When he started threatening to stop by, I alerted security.

My guess is zero because technically Der Wienerschnitzel doesn't serve schnitzel.
Right; leading to dozens of puzzled German visitors to the United States wondering why this place with a name that literally means "Vienna breaded pork chop" is selling frankfurters instead. Declining minds want to know!

Next week on PM Magazine: why can't you buy bells at Taco Bell?
