It will likely end up on a subchannel of an outlet there. Scripps relayed the Vegas Golden Knights to all their Idaho and Montana stations on all their x.2 channels.
That's 4 of the 24 US NHL teams to have games over there...
- Vegas went first with Scripps' KMCC "Vegas 34" to go over the air. The games were simulcast on Scripps' KUPX "Utah 16" Salt Lake City and the .2 of their ID and MT stations.
- Coyotes went next with Scripps' KASW "Arizona 61" and simulcast on Scripps' KWBA Tucson and on KUPX on days without a Vegas conflict. The team is relocating to Salt Lake City, so KUPX will take over airing all the games.
- Seattle earlier announced Tenga's KING/KONG will carry their games. Presumably, most games on independent KONG rather than preempting NBC on KING.
- Scripps now has the Panthers.
The Blackhawks, Bulls, and White Sox announced they would be creating a new network called Chicago Sports Network, that it says would have OTA coverage, but it didn't list with who or the details...so maybe there are 5 teams...
It looks like a few teams dipped their toes last season with the Red Wings putting a few games on Scripps' WMYD 20.
It will be interesting if any more move especially with the Bally RSN Chapter 11 maybe heading to some sort of conclusion later this month?
