They preempted that for this?

I had a recording of "SNL" because the listing said it was a generic episode, which meant it was treated as new. No "SNL". Biden was getting back on his plane. I didn't know why that was news but I checked my recording of the 11:00 news on the NBC affiliate and there wasn't any. It was coverage of the shooting.

On my local NBC affiliate WHO 13 in Des Moines they Pre-empted the 6pm News for the NBC News coverage which they aired all the way to 10pm then they aired the local 10pm News then they went back to the NBC News coverage at 10:30pm where they stayed on the air till Midnight before going back to regular programming.

Last night & again tonight, KSAZ (FOX Phoenix) will bump primetime off to 11PM after the late news to show live coverage during primetime of the RNC which they've wisely scheduled (looking on Zap2It & labeled as To Be announced) from 7-8:30 MST taking possible overrun which is inevitable to account.

After the very lengthy Trump RNC acceptance speech, KNXV (ABC Phoenix) & KPHO (CBS Phoenix) are showing at least the first part of primetime with Press Your Luck & Young Sheldon respectively. KPNX (NBC Phoenix) on the other hand, ditches the lone NBC program being shown, a replay of Law and Order to keep an extended version of their 10pm 12News cast.

Turns out KNXV & KPHO showed primetime in full hence only KPNX along with KSAZ (FOX) & KTVK (IND) were showing late news at 10pm tonight.

Wah I just got some notifications on the TV apps all pointing to this one. I don't know how that translates to OTA and cable on this and what was preempted but this is an interesting turn of events here. Apnews and Reuters went to live updates. Major networks YouTube feeds are covering this live and trending with this one.

ABC and CBS dumped all their afternoon programming (our local ABC affiliate stayed with the network for about 90 minutes and then went back to infomercials.)

NBC on the other hand, stayed with their NASCAR race until 6:00, and then broke for local news.

Reminds me of when Bill Clinton was impeached and CBS showed the NFL and limited Dan Rather to half-time updates, except NASCA doesn't have a half-time.

Our DVD always picks up the 10pm Saturday SNL rerun as "new", so if we're set up for actual new episodes we get that one recorded.

In my area, on WPSD the local NBC affiliate, Jeopardy will not be aired at all due to the Olympics. Wheel of Fortune, on the other hand, is still being aired at 6:30pm after the 6:00 news. I was thinking Jeopardy would air in the wee hours of the morning.

Does anyone else have NBC affiliates that are affecting Jeopardy and/or Wheel of Fortune?
WHO 13 in Des Moines is not airing Daytime Jeopardy at all but is airing the second Jeopardy episode at 3:30am that normally airsa at 3:30pm

Wheel of Fortune is airing at 3am instead of 6:30pm so they can air The Olympic Zone.

My NBC station WYFF in Asheville is all Olympics all the time expect for the news and the Today Show. Kelly Clarkson isn't on, nor is the 4pm or 5pm news (don't know what else is being preempted). Jeopardy and Wheel are on WLOS, so they are unaffected. i think Entertainment Tonight is airing too, but not sure. Checked and it's airing but not Inside Editon.

Jeopardy is in reruns for the next few weeks so you’re not missing anything.

My NBC (Kmnf-ld) in Mankato, MN Jeopardy is on at 5 so right after Olympics so we’re good
Wheel is on CBS (KEYC) so not relevant for pre-empts.
(Gray owns all the nets in Mankato..KEYC cbs & fox, KMNF nbc. No abc in market)

WBIR, Knoxville TN is not airing Jeopardy at all. In past years they shoved it to their subchannel " 10 News 2" which was on cable, but has switched to entirely streaming. I don't believe they can run Jeopardy there.
