New Show on KFI

A good idea and Steve Gregory has been in the trenches with KFI for years so good on him to get a concept show of his own.
I just hope the show isn't stilted to solely one cognitive direction based on what the California University system has been churning out the past decades++.
I don't necessarily want debate and squabbles, just more opinions from all sides even including the many sides I don't agree with.
As long as all sides are represented fairly (even the screwy ones), I wish Steve's show nothing but great success.

2pm on a Sunday for 2 hours isn't going melt PPM meters and swing KFI's rating wildly but it's better than just re-rolling syndicated fare Rich on Tech, Handel On The Law or God forbid, brokered programming.

I will give it a listen. Good to see a variety of schools listed, including Arizona State University's Los Angeles campus.

Hmm, a new talk show on AM that maybe isn't staunchly conservative!

I haven't listened much to talk radio on any band since KGO's well intentioned but badly executed pivot to "all news sometimes", and I don't care for the conservative or religious stuff that seems so ubiquitous on AM nowadays, so I don't really know how things are going. Of course, there's NPR on FM, but I've found their talk to be, for want of a better way of putting it, somewhat aloof, pretentious and snooty (a not-too-uncommon observation, I've noticed). The hosts on pre-2011 KGO were excellent, and I found them very engaging and interesting, even if I didn't always agree with them.

That said, please forgive my ignorance for asking this question: where does KFI stand ideologically? Are they left, right or center?

I've listened to KFI briefly on occasion (mainly at night, of course, when the nighttime skywaves wake up) out of curiosity just to see what's on, and I get the impression that it's relatively down the middle as far as news coverage goes, and perhaps ranging from just right of center to moderately right-leaning at times with the talk. Is that a fair assessment, or am I off base?

Of the talk-oriented stations I've scanned past, It is one of the more listenable ones I've come across; many others are either too far to the right or too religious for my liking.

I feel like it's been pretty historically right-leaning and libertarian, what with the old Rush fans and John and Ken. However, I also think it's been shifting a bit lately more to center or even slightly left with certain hosts -- Mo Kelly and Bill Handel most notably.

while i give the idea big points for being creative, i did listen and it turned out to be three young kids with narrow, but super confident, points of view. was frustrating because there was no polite challenge etc. after about 30 minutes, i could not take it anymore and moved on. i think the idea needs some work before it gets back on the radio as something that is worthwhile.

Young kids who are cocksure and opinionated? Who would have guessed!

The show isn't targeted to you, it's targeted to people who are college aged or a little older than that. They're not "young kids" either, they're adults.

Reminds me of a family member about whom we always say, "Always wrong, but never in doubt"

One of her all time classics: "Ben Carson isn't THAT kind of a doctor. It's not like he is a brain surgeon"
That is a wonderful line! But just to be clear, you are referring to your [unnamed] family member, right? (Just asking for a friend. )
