Carolyn Kruse To Retire From WKLB August 28

After some deep and despicable cuts (even for old school radio standards) on Beasley's part, so happy they're giving a historical Boston radio talent a retirement month.

They blew out their morning show today. They never replaced Jackson Blue. They are not replacing Carolyn Kruse.

It's not looking good for the format.

morning show is already gone from the website

Yea, only Kruser's name is listed and she's leaving next Wednesday. Ben Beaulieu has been holding down afternoon drive since May but he's strictly a fill-in. Something is going down next week but no one is talking.

The return of Jackson Blue!!! Or a format change or more VT garbage from Big $$ corporate

With the syndication of 96.9's morning show, do we think the Tuesday after Labor Day will introduce a full on-air lineup from other Beasley Country stations? (I only know of 99.5 in Tampa, but I didn't do any research)

I believe at that point you'll need a hand and a finger to count the total number of full-time music airstaff left in that building.

The format? Radio companies are going autopilot or voice tracked on music stations that are performing well in the Nielsens because advertising isn't strong enough to produce a high enough profit margin to please Wall Street. 'KLB is off its peak numbers, but is still strong in a lukewarm country market. Its format isn't going anywhere.

the morning show from philly will air in vegas and boston according to radioinsight

Why wait until Labor Day? Philly's Andie Summers Show debuts on Monday in mornings. And yes, this is what Beasley is doing companywide.

Thus KLB joins the ranks of CW stations that are syndicated in AMD, like the Bull with Bobby Bones
Irony that WBOQ had a "keep it local" slogan--but now is all syndicated K Love.

Ownership changes render previous owners' slogans irrelevant. Besides, didn't 'BOQ run jockless for long stretches outside morning and evening drive? Surely they weren't staffing overnights, were they?

the further irony in your statement and lack of knowledge is that for awhile in the tail end, it was using syndicated Westwood one jocks outside of am drive

Right of course, just saying that was what happened to a station that accepted local.. and yes, syndie in several slots but they had AMD etc

Spesking of WBOQ, Bob, did you see their Enon St studios/office were torn out and now being made into apt.s? 😱
