Salem Sues Insurer Over Denied Defamation Claims Coverage

Salem Media sues Atlantic Specialty Insurance Company over claims of breach of contract. This is tied to a defamation case related to the movie 2000 Mules.

Salem Media Group has filed a lawsuit against Atlantic Specialty Insurance Company over claims of breach of contract. The dispute centers on the insurer’s refusal to cover defamation claims linked to the documentary 2000 Mules, which Salem Media distributed.

The film, which made claims about allegedly fraudulent activities in the 2020 election, was the subject of a defamation lawsuit from Mark Andrews, who was falsely portrayed as participating in illegal ballot handling.

According to the complaint filed in the Central District of California, Salem alleges that Atlantic Insurance has not fulfilled its obligations under their insurance agreement, particularly in covering the significant amount of defense costs” and the “significant [confidential] amount” paid to Andrews as part of an out-of-court settlement.

Here are the producers of the 2000 mules movie. Yes this is the same stuff that got Rudy Giuliani, Newsmax, Fox News, Mike Lindell, Kari Lake and OAN either held liable or under investigation for defamation.

They're wasting precious resources on legal expenses for a case that would get laughed out of court. Let me see if I have this straight: You may have intentionally defamed another company and by doing so, cost them millions of dollars. This same company you allegedly defamed also won a similar lawsuit against Newscorp for over three-quarters of a billion dollars??
I can see why their insurance company is running for the hills.

Would you look at that: Salem's "stock" is up 33% -- from yesterday.
But... its yearly high was an impressive -- get this -- 69 cents.

Most of the hosts at that network are angry white conservative men.

But apparently they are still making enough money to pay the talent millions of dollars a year? Charlie Kirk and Larry Elder cant be cheap to have doing a daily show.

Given the network's pathetic stock price, and lack of appearance in ratings, clearly, the market has no interest in their narrow, one-sided programming. But, market forces don't apply here because they think their dogmatic ideology is an "exception."
Just like those wanting a gubberment bail-out to keep AM radios in cars.

No way he’s making that just from radio.
I'm guessing in the low to mid 6 figures from just radio. Maybe some side money from endorsements.

Well Hannity is making about 25 million dollars a year just from radio maybe thats a bad comparision but.
Hannity is absolutely not making $25 million from just radio. This article says his Fox News contract is worth $25 million:

I dont know if Sean is still making this but in 08 he was on a five year 100 million dollar radio only contract with citadel communications. So that would be 25 million dollars a year.. In June 2007, ABC Radio was sold to Citadel Communications and in the summer of 2008, Hannity was signed for a $100 million five-year contract.

Did you read the article from 2020 I posted? What he was making in 2008 has nothing to do with what he’s making now, because the finances of the radio business have changed from then to now.

Ok well to be fair you dont know if he is still making that amount per year or not from his radio contract. He very well may be. Thats why I specifically said I dont know if he is still making that amount or not did you read my full comment? I read the whole article. It says he is making fourty three million a year so I dont know what portion of that is radio earnings and neither do you. All we know is the fox contract amount. And also notice in my original post I said about 25 million a year so maby thats anywhere from 15 million to 25 million per year. What part of my comments do you take such issue with I am confused?

The doubling down after admitting you don't actually know how much Hannity makes from radio, and claiming $15 million is the same as "about $25 million". Anyway I'm done arguing with you, since it will lead nowhere.
