The Lamp Timer is a solid mid-1's, naturally. Here is the Phoenix radio ratings for October. Phoenix
But I'm surprised that heritage CHR KZZP-FM is only at 1.8 in these beauty contest numbers. Not only is that behind 101.5 Live (2.6), but it seems real low for a CHR -- the iHeart CHR in Seattle is at 4, roughly the same as its rival. Any insight?
I want to ask whether Phoenix can support two CHRs? Not that I have a better format idea.
Wow, KTAR is not benefiting from the looming election at all, while KFYI and KJZZ show big gains. In fact KTAR wasn't in the top demo rankings, and even dropped a bit in the 6+ showing.
KJZZ would be better if they had more local content - nobody refers to it as a "KJZZ" (it's "NPR") - and played cooler music. Why can't KJZZ be Phoenix's KCRW?The thing I notice is that both KFYI and KJZZ had big increases, but low cume. So that tells me people turn the station on, and leave it on.

Pat McMahon is 89 years old, but his bio says he continues to work in radio and TV, for KTAR and KAZT-TV.Bonneville's really blowing it by not inviting Pat McMahon back for any of their "war room" segments. Him, I'd want to hear what he has to say. And isn't he the one who originated that segment for the station? But any of the others? Meh. Not so much.
I believe Pat is still with KAZT, but doesn't do as much as he used to. Maybe the occasional interview or promo.Pat McMahon is 89 years old, but his bio says he continues to work in radio and TV, for KTAR and KAZT-TV.
I know Brad Perry has a morning show on KAZT, but is Pat still on there? Also, there is still the God Show that he does on KTAR.
It sounds like Pat is finally slowing down after all these years, he's been a fixture in Valley broadcasting for over 60 years. So he's no longer with KTAR in any capacity? I believe Pat McMahon along with Preston Westmoreland were the first talk show hosts on KTAR when they shifted from All News to News/Talk.I believe Pat is still with KAZT, but doesn't do as much as he used to. I don't think "The God Show" is on KTAR's schedule anymore.
Yeah, KTAR removed The God Show six years ago I believe. McMahon then signed on to Dave Pratt's podcast station Star Worldwide Network in April 2019.I believe Pat is still with KAZT, but doesn't do as much as he used to. Maybe the occasional interview or promo.
