Tuning around, I heard WSKQ broadcasting a baseball game from the Dominican Republic: Aguilas Cabeanas vs. Tigres Lel Licey.
I had never heard sports play by on this station. Do they cover any other sports matches?

I would guess Telemicro (their stations "Independencia" and "KeBuena" carry the games in DR), but they've only mentioned airing on WSKQ and not the previous two stations.I'm wondering who the source is for the game. Obviously not ESPN![]()
So this is most likely just an annual broadcast event? They did the same last year.
Though I do love the play-by-play, I have to admit this is a turn off to non-Dominicans and might make them tune to WXNY.
Everyone in NYC is focused on the Dominican population. The Puerto Rican community has not grown since the late 60's and the 18-49 group is third generation and does not use Spanish. All other groups are too small (Colombians, Ecuadorians, etc.) or not well sampled by Nielsen (Mexicans). So this is most likely just an annual broadcast event?
Is WXNY as focused on the Dominican community as La Mega? The two stations sound so similar.
I can confirm that they are. Only in Spanish, though, and only live, with no archived games available.Apparently MLB is streaming the Dominican League games to all subscribers:
