They might become more of a fulltime national feed like the Townsquare stations. I checked out the Townsquare stations in East Texas and the Ark-La-Tex. They all run the same feed 24/7 with voice tracked DJ’s and perhaps one local DJ, with their country stations an exception and possibly their urban AC’s another exception (I couldn’t get a playlist). I know their classic rockers and CHR’s run the same feed 24/7 for sure.
What?!? You mean the "Fabulous" Jennifer Tyler, I mean Jen Austin of course, isn't sitting in front of a golden mic there in the plush, lavish Townsquare broom closet, I mean gorgeous downtown studio on S. Broadway? On the square? Did I mention...in downtown?
Surely, you jest, Jay!
Did you notice, too, that Walton & Johnson, minus the Walton, has booted John Boy and Billy from mornings on 96.1? Already had W&J on K-TUX, but now it's available two places, and if you miss something and want to make sure of what you thought you heard, program a button for both. 96's feed is behind K-TUX by nearly a minute.
KNUE has syndicated fare, of course, but mornings are local, as is mid-day. Everything else, as I recall, is flown in from the bird. Not a KNUE fan myself, so I may be missing a shift that's local and I've overlooked. The Ranch has long time country voice Charlie O in afternoon, but mornings are Big D & Bubba.
If you want live, local, and even give you enough of your very own airtime to sell your non-running, just needs a filter you think, 20 inch Hyper not-so-tough push mower, just dial up the three 9's on your radio dial. As long as you're in Tyler, Lindale or Mini-get-down-ola.
Longview, well, they're just screwed.
...and please, when you call in to sell that $20 mower, for God's sake, turn down your radio. Thank you. 😉
