Jimmy Carter Dead at 100

Carter was a class act all the way. He was friends with the Allman Brothers which helped his campaign. Carter was a President with dignity and a low key demeanor. His humanitarian activities after his Presidency were admirable. Living 100 years is remarkable. America would be better off if politicians of today could display some of his wit, class, and intelligence...

I spoke with a person that worked in the White House during the Carter era. It was said he had difficulty delegating. That was seen as a weakness by some and claimed him to be a weak president. He was a negotiator which did not fare well for situations like the Iran Hostage Crisis that ended the day Reagan won the election.

I wasn't there and I prefer look at what a person does to build up people. President Carter was certainly one who never forgot what it was like to grow up as a common American. He never acted like he was above others or better than anyone. That is likely why he is so loved. You might say he and his wife did more for people after his presidency. My impression was Jimmy Carter was the sort you could sit down over a cup of coffee and never feel you were inferior to him.

Did any of you ever try his brother Billy's beer?
From which brewery? It was produced by Falls City (Louisville KY), F.X. Matt (Utica NY) and Cold Spring (Cold Spring MN), and maybe a few others that I never found. It was pretty bad across the board.

Heaven gained one of the greatest men of our time. He lived to serve God. Throughout his life, this wonderful man went from humble beginnings as a peanut farmer, and a Navy officer, to become Georgia's governor, and eventually, the 39th president. While his time in office was plagued by crises (stagflation, Iran hostage crisis, and unfavorable ratings from the public), his time post-presidency will be remembered for generations.
I've watched clips of him doing Sunday school. At 95!!! This is a man who lived every day for God's plan and to worship Him. His work for Habitat for Humanity and the hundreds (or maybe thousands?) of homes he helped built, changed the lives of so many families and gave him so much confidence. I honestly believe God's plan for his life came about AFTER he left office.

He will be FOREVER missed. If future generations are looking for a role model - especially a Christian one - look to Jimmy Carter.
Now he and Rosalynn are reunited forever, and the angels are all singing for him. Well done, faithful servant. May you rest in peace, and welcome home, Mr. President. ✝️

I agree with the first four posts.

Anyone know how this news was first reported on the networks? It appears Fox had the late football game. I learned while online because one newspaper web site I went to had the headline as Breaking News at the top of the page.

His Presidential museum in Plains is really something, my dad visited it and he said it was great. He lived in Georgia when Carter was governor and thought really well of him.
