Heaven gained one of the greatest men of our time. He lived to serve God. Throughout his life, this wonderful man went from humble beginnings as a peanut farmer, and a Navy officer, to become Georgia's governor, and eventually, the 39th president. While his time in office was plagued by crises (stagflation, Iran hostage crisis, and unfavorable ratings from the public), his time post-presidency will be remembered for generations.
I've watched clips of him doing Sunday school. At 95!!! This is a man who lived every day for God's plan and to worship Him. His work for Habitat for Humanity and the hundreds (or maybe thousands?) of homes he helped built, changed the lives of so many families and gave him so much confidence. I honestly believe God's plan for his life came about AFTER he left office.
He will be FOREVER missed.
If future generations are looking for a role model - especially a Christian one - look to Jimmy Carter.
Now he and Rosalynn are reunited forever, and the angels are all singing for him. Well done, faithful servant. May you rest in peace, and welcome home, Mr. President.
