I would expect most will stick with 94.9 when its k love
You might be surprised, a lot of us long time listeners are upset because it's not just the music, KLTY does community outreach and events, Christmas Wish is a big one, EMF does nothing at all to help the local communities they beg off of, I'll likely switch to 90.9 instead and I called Air1 to cancel my monthly donation stating them buying and then killing KLTY as my reason.I would expect most will stick with 94.9 when its k love
I understand that, it's who the buyer is, I wish kcbi had grabbed it instead.Salem was exiting the music business to pay down debt. At least they sold it to a company that will keep the format alive on the signals. Over the past few years they have been selling their music stations slowly and now the final 7.

Judging by the results from when KFMK/Austin went from "Spirit 105.9" to K-Love, there may be an initial decline, but by the one-year mark there won't be much noticeable difference unless one of the other operators in DFW makes a massive effort to market themselves during that time.I’m curious to see the shift in ratings, if your response is shared by a majority of the KLTY audience.
Salem and EMF today filed a number of call change requests with the FCC for stations involved in the spinoff. KLTY is NOT one of them so far, though it is possible a change is still on the way.
Check attachment to this filing, which includes all the stations changing call: https://enterpriseefiling.fcc.gov/d...&id=25076f91948a77fe01948f72f3051a53&goBack=N

I still suspect that EMF…errr…K-Love Inc. will keep the KLTY call in place until the dust settles from the transition, perhaps six months, to give some promotion continuity. After that I could see the KLUV call quietly placed on 94.9.They got busy again today and requested call changes at other stations they already own or are getting via other transactions. Still no application for a call change at KLTY
Simple just to swap with the South Dakota station where KLUV is currently parked. The KLUV call is too valuable to be left in such obscurity, and if K-Love was going to move it to a large market other than DFW they would have already done so.If they do convert KLTY to KLUV, presumably they would do the same to keep someone else from getting them in-market?
Except that EMF went to the expense and trouble of purchasing the right to use them from Audacy. Why go to the trouble, if there was never an intention of reintroducing the set in DFW?There's really no reason for KLTY to change calls.

It was to ensure they could use the K-Love name in the market. The callsign was a bonus.Except that EMF went to the expense and trouble of purchasing the right to use them from Audacy. Why go to the trouble, if there was never an intention of reintroducing the set in DFW?
How many times an hour does a K-Love station broadcast its call letters? (yes, I know the answer to that question)
The answer to that question should tell you how much this matters.
