Favorite channels?

You can scratch Prime Country from that list for quite awhile. Today they went whiney Christmas songs!

December 4th? Are you kidding?
Our local classic country station went all-Christmas at the same time, so it's streaming only if I want to hear any '80s/'90s country other than the one or two songs an hour from those decades that our two mainstream country squeeze in among all the Luke Combs, Jelly Roll and Post Malone. At least the Christmas songs they're playing are country rather than the same songs the AC stations play. Although they've got to watch those segues. I heard the midday jock on one of those stations come out of Alan Jackson's "Let It Be Christmas" by saying how much she loves Christmas, then going right into "Lies, Lies, Lies." (Morgan Wallen's most recent hit.)

My favorite channels, in order:
Turbo
Octane
Lithium
Alt Nation
Ozzy's Boneyard and Alt 2K (tie)

For some reason, SXM refuses to play grunge artists on Turbo even though I hear plenty of artist & song overlap between Octane and Turbo and between Turbo and Liquid Metal. They also seem to greatly limit overlap between PopRocks and Lithium.

I haven't seen anyone mention Sports. I got SXM because of the Sports Play by Play channels - MLB, NBA, NHL, NFL and ESPN Radio. I discovered the non commercial music channels a bit later. My favorites -

Watercolors, Symphony Hall, The Blend, 60's Gold, 70's on 7, 80's on 8, Classic Vinyl, Classic Rewind, The Bridge

For News - BBC World Service

Sports was one of the features that got me to sign up for Sirius XM (specifically Big Ten college basketball / football and MLB). But they moved MLB to a more expensive package and their selection of Big Ten sports available via satellite has really shrunk, so I guess I'll stick with the less expensive "Music & Entertainment" plan. I do appreciate that this plan includes the Westwood One NFL games on the NFL channel (88) and national ESPN games on channel 80 for when I'm traveling and not in range of an ESPN / Westwood One affiliate. But I primarily have SXM for music, and mostly listen online.

Favorite channels: Chill (and Classic Chill), Coffee House (and Coffee House Classics), Pop Rocks, DMB Radio, Tom Petty Radio, Elevations Pop, and Miles Davis Radio.

I used to listen to Alt Nation and the Spectrum a lot more, but can't stand Madison on Alt Nation and have a local alternative station I enjoy listening to. Last time I listened, the Spectrum was annoyingly repetitive.

1st Wave, 80’s on 8, Classic Rock Rewind. Scan other stations here and there.

(I think I need to downgrade to stream only or cancel - I am listening to it less and less.)

I have always wondered why they don't have a later 60's to early 80's channel for the over-55 group. The 60's channel is too dated and tired for me, and pure 70's does not have really enough songs due to the "Disco Takeover" in much of the decade.

In country, they do cross decades and I love the 80's and 90's channel. Lots more songs and lots more "variety" of big songs I want to hear.
I fond some of their better channels are in the app. As I'm a big Nitro listener (classic and new hard rock mix).
Everytime I find a channel on the radio, they tend to change it to point I just listen on app anymore as many of the fan favorite mix stations are there.
However, I think they need to let some others try programming more country on the app, as I find it funny with the big push of Texas red dirt influence, I have to hear it only occasionally thru outlaw country

One thing I really enjoy about SiriusXM is being able to experience different genres. My musical moods change very often. So my list of most listened to channels has changed a few times since I first answered this thread four months ago. Currently I’m enjoying Chill and Real Jazz.

I'm a jaded ex-radio guy. I thought there wasn't a radio station or radio format out there for me anymore...then I turned on Alt Nation. I love the groove and flow of this channel, so much so that I often get goose bumps when listening to it. Many times I have to check out the app to investigate what song or artist they're playing because it all of a sudden is satisfying my musical craving so perfectly. I also like it that they seem to put certain songs into higher rotation that they think are Alt Nation hit material. And thank you for sometimes intro-ing the artist *before* playing the song (a now lost art form on traditional radio). Whomever is choosing the music for this channel, or programming this station - you're doing a great job! I am totally loving it! I just recently re-signed with SiriusXM, so I'm still discovering what they all have to offer. Underground Garage and The Beatles channels are also favorites right off the bat. I don't think I'll ever get rid of SiriusXM again, as there's way too much excellent programming that I'd be missing out on. It's been awhile since I felt the urge to turn up the radio, but Alt Nation has changed that. Thank you.

I was waiting to see a doctor and at some point I heard someone say it was Sirius/XM. But in one room I only heard two songs. Barry Manilow, which was promising. The next song was by Tina Turner and I'm glad that was the last one I heard in that room.

In a different room, where I did hear the words Sirius/XM, there were good 70s songs, and then there was Aerosmith.

Did anyone think to notice how many old people with walkers or wheelchairs there are?

Also, my cousin is about to turn 69 and while I didn't ask if she liked any other channels, the display on her screen said "The Bridge".

Oh god no. Not Tina Turner. Who will think of the children?.

I'm willing to bet quite a few of those old people in walkers and wheelchairs have been to an Aerosmith concert. An 80-year old person was 30 when Toys In The Attic came out.

Something is seriously wrong there.

Okay, not necessarily Sirius/XM, and a different doctor, but still lots of people with walkers or wheelchairs. Nirvana in the small waiting room, bu nothing in the big one.

I can't edit but I just realized it is "Ironic" that music such as I heard is played where people with walkers and wheelchairs need to see the doctor. Anyone get the joke?
