Some of you may know that I am a huge fanatic of the classic flavor of the Soft/Adult Contemporary radio format. A lot of songs from that format were either big hits that radio forgot about because they were "too slow," or "too old" or songs that didn't crack the top 10 (or even 20) of the Hot 100, but were bigger AC hits that got adopted into most "light" stations' playlists and became staples of the format up until AC started to shift to a more modern, uptempo sound.
For fun, pick one (or more if you choose) song from each decade (60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s) that you would resurrect if you were in charge of a station going for that classic Soft AC sound.
Here are my picks:
60s: "Get Together" - Youngbloods, "You've Made Me So Very Happy" - Blood, Sweat & Tears
70s: "I'd Really Love To See You Tonight" - ED/JFC, "Please Come To Boston" - Dave Loggins
80s: "It Might Be You" - Stephen Bishop, "Foolish Heart" - Steve Perry
90s: "In The House Of Stone And Light" - Martin Page
