I don't think they are competing to sound like the other stations in the area. It could be just a "Fiesta" or "Party" on 93.9/103.5FM, which could play a mix of both Spanish & English upbeat hits, much different than what you claim the others are doing. Not exactly "Spanish CHR". Think of it as a "Hits 96.5", but a lot more upbeat. I think it could work if they put a niche format like this here in Orlando, but the spotty signal will be the main thing that will keep them from really succeeding. I kind of liked it when they were playing bachata & slow jams, though. They were already a niche format.
As stupid as this sounds, I could listen to "Party Rock Anthem" all day on a loop & not get sick of it. 😅 However, I will turn the radio off or tune out on every single Bad Bunny song. 🤮❌🐰 My hope is that they will play Old School Freestyle, much deeper cuts than what Sunny does on Saturday nights, but none of the songs they are stunting with goes back that far, so my hope probably won't happen. My little ounce of hope goes to them bringing back "95.3 Party".
According to Radio-Locator, I live just inside the "fringe" coverage area of both signals, but 103.5FM is definitely stronger at my location, as I have that "in stereo" when I get a sweet spot on my home radio on that frequency. I can't get a "stereo" signal on 93.9FM, no matter what direction I point my antenna. However, both frequencies are received well in my car. Alas, I look forward to what is to come tomorrow at 5pm. Fingers crossed for my format of choice, but I'm usually not that lucky. 🤞☘️🍀
