The Fantastic Lunch Songs Game

Never Ending Song Of Lunch -- Delaney & Bonnie & Friends

Thanks for reviving this thread, but ... Ding ding ding! That's a repeat, used as submission #98 by ... hmmm, let's see ... why, by one Ed Nielson!

Lunch In The Hot Afternoon -- Gene Watson
I did a search for "never ending" and it didn't turn up anything. Now, that same search just came up with the last two entries... Kept wondering how I could have missed it...

I didn't use the search because it's ridiculously unreliable. It doesn't seem to index words or phrases used in the Fantastic Word Game at all, no matter how unusual they may be. I actually remembered seeing the Delaney and Bonnie song in the first few days of the game, so I just went to page 1 and started clicking until I found it, which didn't take long at all.

Don't Fall In Lunch With a Dreamer - Kenny Rogers

I reckon that's kinda why this game fell off. There's only so many songs recorded with "love" in the title. Not sure if this one o' Kenny's has been played yet, but if'n not, it is now.

Let Me Tell You About Lunch -- The Judds

I've noticed a lot of "lunching," "launched,' "lunchers," etc. titles being used. While this expands the pool of available songs, it's kind of a phony way of doing so. Does anyone actually use "lunch" as a verb?

"Make lunch not war sounds so absurd to me."

Lyrics from "Rest in Peace" by Extreme

When a Man Lunches a Woman - Michael Bolton

For this question, we'll refer to the creator of the game, Mr. David Margalotti. Or...as I refer to him in that other fantastic-titled game, The Padre.

In post #1, he says (and I quote)...
"Welcome to The Fantastic Lunch Songs Game, (TFLSG as most prefer). When my kids were little, anytime a song with "love" in the title or lyrics came on the radio, we would sing along but we would replace the word "love" with the word "lunch". So for this game, please post a song title or lyric that replaces "love" with "lunch". I'll go first..."

*clears throat, puts on hat*

I reckon that right there sums it up tighter than a pair of britches on a Southern girl in a dark saloon on a Saturday night.

Do we have to limit it to "love"? Other words can also be changed to "lunch". Example: "Girls Just Want To Have Fun Lunch."

Lunch Lunch Lunch -- The Beatles

Why not change every word to "lunch" if we want to? Is the above entry "Let It Be"? "Tell Me Why"? "Maxwell's Silver Hammer"? It's up to you. I'm just making sure we never run out of songs.

Oh, and it's not "Maxwell's Silver Hammer," which, of course, should be rendered "Lunch's Lunch Lunch."

Send My Lunch (To Your New Lover)” - Adele

My friend from deep in the heart of Texas is 100% right. A submission that replaces the word "love" with the word "lunch" in the lyrics of a song is perfectly acceptable. As to Ed's suggestion of replacing other words with "lunch", while I appreciate the desire to extend the life of this game by allowing other substitutions, it does significantly deviate from the original intent and purpose.

That being said, I am not a Game Czar, nor do I desire to be one. So, you guys can do whatever the heck you want.
