im a somewhat flaming, somewhat moderate democrat thats a not so flaming **** and just like i didnt cheer Rush's illness or death.. I won't here. I may not like what the men said, but its their right and if you take it away from them, you can take it away from me.. or others in this thread. And if theres a sudden free speech line you cant cross, who decides that line? That would be mired in lawsuits for eternity.

I accidentally saw a video of the incident... and it made me ill...... and not much i watch or see can really make me ill. Disgusted? yes. but physically ill? No.. but this did.

I dont have the answers. I dont think more gun laws will necessarily solve things because criminals don't abide by laws.

Definately place a priority on mental health and maybe some more screening when buying a gun. I dont know. What we have clearly doesnt work

Violence is not the answer to any of our problems yet it keeps happening on a daily basis because of the rhetoric on cable news and social media.

We are being trained to hate one another. This will keep happening.

There was another school shooting in Denver today that will get foreshadowed.

One of his major initiatives was to reveal university professors who discriminated against students who had conservative beliefs by giving bad grades, forcing beliefs that the students did not share and public ostracism in classes.

When I was a student at LMU during the early 1980s, I had a liberal history professor who I disagreed with on many issues that were discussed in class (I was a conservative back then). As I increased my participation in life, I came to understand that a lot of what this professor said was not "liberal" but quite factual and verifiably so.

I've made the above statement to make two points: 1) just because one believes something to be true doesn't make it true; and 2) if what a professor says is factually incorrect, it is much better to have backup evidence showing that your view is correct than not.

Fact checking is dead in today’s media. Clicks and sensationalism are more important than the truth.

This eerily reminds me of the killing of Alan Berg at KOA during the 1980s. Berg, in a mirror image of Kirk, was a rising star of the left on commercial talk radio before being killed by a right-wing extremist. Once a suspect is apprehended, then maybe we will learn more about the motive behind Kirk's murder.
I was unable to remember the specifics of this. Thanks for filling in my blanks. That was horrible, as is this.

Is there actual confirmation of his death or only that Trump said it? edit/add I now understand that Charlie Kirk's spokesperson later confirmed the news.

Salem is a purveyor of hate and inflammatory political rhetoric.
And there are those who simply think their perspectives are different than yours. In the case of Kirk, I find nothing that is hateful or inflammatory.

Is there actual confirmation of his death or only that Trump said it? It could be that Trump confused "shot" and "dead" and simply announced what he thought he heard. It's also possible that he intentionally started a conspiracy! Either of these are quite possible. However, if Charlie Kirk is truly dead, the whole thing is moot.

just hit google for your answer man, come on, use the tools you have

Update apparently there are reports that a person of interest is detained related to the shooting in the Charlie Kirk rally.

He was pronounced dead almost two hours ago. In fact, there is a press conference in Utah about the murder right now.

That is not true. A person was initially arrested when they took credit for the shooting, but they had no weapon and no evidence of having made the shot and was released. In the press conference going on right now the local authorities and and the FBI have stated that they searching for the perpetrator.

The governor of Utah said they have a "person of interest" in custody. Different person than the first one. (I'm a reporter who still calls them suspects.)

Before this thread gets closed and locked up for good, I will say this:

No wife, no child should have to bury their husband, their daddy, at the age of 31. No matter what political beliefs they have. He was a Christian, did what he liked to do (debate on campuses and share his conservative opinions), and a sick person gunned him down. Another tragedy for this country, no matter what political belief you have.

RIP, gone too soon.

Radio impact: a couple of hundred news/talk affiliates, and Salem itself, are now going to have to scramble and figure out how to replace 3 hours of programming. Because obviously, it would be disrespectful to have tons of guest hosts rotating on "The Charlie Kirk Show". I suspect some news/talkers will be switching to other Salem shows (like Dennis Prager or Hugh Hewitt), Fox Across America may get some new affiliates, and possibly Clay and Buck too.

DavidEduardo's earlier post was right on track. Post #19
