It's hurting their bottom line, so that's just a solution...could even be a half hour...less guests, less money thrown away.
If you're talking about the Kimmel suspension hurting their bottom line, that's probably true with all the loss of subscriptions to Disney+/ Hulu/ESPN+/etc., but the rest of it is never going to happen.

Let's try this one more time:

Disney and ABC have their own issues they need to deal with the current administration about.

Disney may make its money from the First Amendment, but don't think for a moment that it considers money to be secondary.

Translation, because apparently we need it:

They're not in the mood to piss Trump off at the moment and are hoping they can figure something out. This buys them time.

Hmm...might be true. But they don't have any pending mergers like CBS did.

CNN's Kaitlan Collins confirming from Air Force One:

The Kimmel thing didn't mention the president at all. Even when it's not about him, he makes it about him.

Newsflash: They're not bashing him. They're bashing the president and the government, whoever it is.

Radio stations are licensed by the same FCC. All they did for the last 4 years was bash the president. Should he have pulled their licenses?

They would have rightly lost their (bleep) if he tried. Irony is lost.

For once, Axios' tendency to reduce everything to lists is useful:

Scroll down to 1 big thing: Media's MAGA makeover

Excerpts:

Trump-friendly billionaires are consolidating control over American media, steering legacy brands and social platforms in a new conservative direction, Axios' Zachary Basu and Sara Fischer write.

Why it matters: The media landscape of 2016 is unrecognizable. Once dominated by critics of President Trump, today's fragmented ecosystem is increasingly controlled — or threatened — by forces aligned with the White House.

...and...

The big picture: The media's MAGA makeover is unfolding on two fronts — high-profile acquisitions that give Trump allies control of marquee platforms, and quieter rebrands that soften once-critical coverage or policies.
Of course, the news peg here is Kimmel's "suspension".

The president says Kimmel getting removed wasn't about free speech. It was over lack of talent.

Responding to a question about whether free speech is better protected in the U.S. or UK, Trump claimed Kimmel was “fired because of bad ratings more than anything else,” along with “saying a horrible thing about a gentlemen called Charlie Kirk,”

The president seems to believe this is permanent. I think he's right. I don't see this getting fixed.
