CBS, now under Paramount ownership, has announced it will be shuttering CBS News Radio after May 22. The network has been in business for approximately 100 years.
While much has been made of the political bent of CBS-TV since the acquisition by Paramount and installation of Bari Weiss as Editor-in-Chief, this appears to be a purely economic decision.
Locally, this affects WSB, which carries CBS News during the overnight hours and reports from CBS although the station should have no problem replacing these elements.
