CNN, for it's part, seems to be devoting a bit of time to it (not wall-to-wall, of course; that will probably, maybe, hopefully? happen as we get closer).

True at one point that was the case for CNN historically but given the recent pending merger with Paramount I don’t know for how long given the concerns media critics have about Bari Weiss and the Ellisons running CNN in addition to CBS News if that gets finalized. Today it’s go outside the US like ABC News Australia, BBC News, CBC News, DW News, Al-Jazerra to get better news coverage.

My local community station, which generally leans radical left even for here, gave that one an airing while I was cooking dinner tonight as well. They also dug out Jesus Was A Cross Maker by Judee Sill, which isn't quite so on the nose, but a song I'd totally forgotten.

For some reason, it airs Democracy Now from Pacifica every morning - an odd programming choice in the UK.

He's there for another 3 years, barring an act of nature. Unless someone of authority does something, that won't change.

Now that we sit at the precipice of potential mass destruction, the NY Times bothers to report how we were led into this mess by an easily manipulated imbecile to do the bidding of another country. No rush there, NYT. It’s all good.

We might as well have sitcom reruns in place of network news for all the commitment they show to anything resembling being the fourth estate.

My online pet peeve is folks, including lawmakers and media personalities shouting "25th" into the void. Umm, JD Vance (who is campaigning for Viktor Orban in Hungary) and a cabinet of sycophants aren't going start the process. Trump could and would fight it, and then it would take 3/4 of both houses to remove him. It's not the "easy" button. Impeach, convict, remove is the only option.

I think before the 70s, news was a loss leader, not a profit center.

I was involved in radio going back to the late 50's and news was, indeed, part of the national radio and TV networks' image enhancement efforts. But news was a profit center and intended to make money for those networks.

In fact, as radio networks lost the appeal of their entertainment shows, news became the only profit center for them.
