Nope, its on the air using an SDR in fuquay varina

Picked them up in Cleveland, right next to WTAM 1100. Not strong enough to get a clear voice but there was enough getting through the noise that I could make out some bars of "lounge" music and "...107"

I saw that Facebook post too. However, caught "the loop" this afternoon, 75 miles northwest of Charlotte in the NC mountains.

Roger on that, thanks, I'll look into it. We had a couple visiting our church, this past Wednesday night, from NC. He was in the area (generally speaking) for classes with his work. When they told me they were from north of Winston-Salem, lo and behold, this blind guy nailed the town. )

Please allow me to clarify something I said in a previous post. When I said good to hear, I meant good to hear the station on the air, not the redirect loop.

But that's WBT-FM.

I never had a problem with WBT-AM in Belmont. I think 61 Big WAYS could be heard there too. That's what most of the kids liked when I was in high school. I tolerated WBT but it wasn't really what I liked. WSOC had gone all-news.

At my place in Maryland I might have a better signal than parts of the Charlotte market! I believe I could hear WBT on a rusty razor blade and a piece of string

I never had a problem with WBT-AM in Belmont.

I had a Sunday morning broadcast for like four months, on 'CGC, back in (IIRC) late 2002. I believe the GM's name was Larry Hess.

I think 61 Big WAYS could be heard there too. That's what most of the kids liked when I was in high school. I tolerated WBT but it wasn't really what I liked.

In the words of Mr. Crutchfield (sp), This is WBT, just across the street from WAYS.

WSOC had gone all-news.
