DJs play music. Did he?Henry Bogan was a great DJ or as Lewis Compton, The Mouth Of The South used to say, Radio Pronouncer.
sorry, didn't realize. editing that out.HA is still with us. Living the good life at the beach...
They’re going to have to relocate the 102.5 translator. It broadcasts from the Radio Road site. Beasley also has all of their auxiliary sites there.
Beasley also owns the land on Nations Ford, and Urban One owns the antenna structures. I’m sure there’s a lot going on behind the scenes.

Then you heard it better than I do 50 miles east of the towers.
I believe it was changed to 107.9 decades ago. However FEMA built 2 emergency broadcast buildings at Nations Ford Road. I guess they'll have to move them.Isn't 1110 an "input station" for EAS?

I thought that'd be an option, when I wrote my last reply, but didn't voice it.I believe it was changed to 107.9 decades ago.

The fact that there has been no answer to that question for all these months means there's no reason to keep asking the question.Yeah, once again, sad day in radio. How many ways can my next question be asked? Did they have a plan for 1110 or was this their plan for it all along, after deciding to move the talk to 107.9?
yes he did. records. WHEE was basically full service he played country, pop (Ray Conniff), gospel and occasional "Top 40" in different blocks every day. I remember once during the 8 AM pop hour he pulled "Free Bird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Stopped it half way in and said that sounds like a Wild Bird to me and moved on.DJs play music. Did he?
I understand, just thinking out loud. The fact that there has been no answer to that question for all these months means there's no reason to keep asking the question.
We do not know. U1 is under no obligation to tell any of us. Until and unless someone there decides to spill the beans, we may never know.

This is exactly what I was speculating may be occurring. The real estate is apparently more valuable than the radio frequency, 1110. Beasley owns the property, and Radio One is tired of paying rent for the transmitting towers of a dying medium. But sad to see the end of an era. A legendary radio frequency that just a few years ago celebrated its 100th anniversary, coming to a close. But WBT as a radio brand lives on, just on a different frequency, 107.9 But sad, nevertheless. Despite the nighttime skywave now being irrelevant in today's business model, I will be sad to see it go, for nostalgic reasons. But is there hope Radio One may find a buyer, and the towers be located to a different location?Selling both transmitter sites for redevelopment. Another example of the dirt being more valuable than the radio stations.
Would they diplex elsewhere or simply turn in the licenses?
Yes HA has turned 90 and living at Myrtle Beach. And Bo and Beth have visited with him when they broadcast from her father's house at he beach the past few summers.HA is still with us. Living the good life at the beach...
Yes there were several times over the years when Henry hosted a music show, I believe on Sundays. He played Big Band classics and golden oldies type standards. But he was primarily a talk show host of Hello Henry.DJs play music. Did he?
After a quick look at FCC query for 1110 AM KFAB should consider an engineering study to see if the Canadian stations on 1110 will be an issue, but WBT AM's nighttime pattern has kept the channel relatively clean in the Eastern US. Of course despite the St. Louis experience, the commission might try to auction the channel if U1 actually turns in the license.Wow not surprised. I wondered why they'd keep 610 and plow 1110 into the ground...now we know, they won't. There's a finality about seeing it in print. Guess everything has a lifespan.
Now the question is with WBT out of the way could KFAB go non-directional?
