#1 Afternoon Host demoted?

Very cryptic. It might be fun, except no one has a clue to whom you're referring.

This board is on life support most of the time anyway; how about just saying what you've heard so maybe we can get a thread going.

It's not a demotion. It's just a shakeup in the lineup and a change for a sister station. Big deal.

He's been there before.

it IS a demotion. The next step is out the door (or across the street). The longest running PM Drive host in the market (pretty sure about that).

Is this about Jay Gilbert? Why won't anyone say the name? If it is Jay, I'm sure he'll be fine whatever happens. He's a solid dude.

Here's the full story on who's moving from afternoon to middays at WUBE. Changes also effect WYGY The Wolf as well.

B105 today moved Duke Hamilton out of his afternoon drive slot to middays (9 a.m.-2 p.m.). Hamilton, who marked his 30th anniversary at WUBE-FM (105.1) in December, has been the afternoon voice for 15 yers or more.

Far from a demotion. In people meter, Duke will be even more important to B-105. Sounds like a smart plan at a smart time to me. Duke's a talented guy...he'll "git 'er done".

Big Dave is money in the bank, and they've finally put him where he belongs. Watch B recapture that number one spot with him at the helm. Congratulations Dave, you deserve it!

As for Duke, we all wish him well, but let's face facts-- this is not a promotion. With all due respect to Peter Z., nice don't git'er done in radio these days, and he knows that.

Duke is out to pasture with the baby goats. That after all those number one books. Big Dave is great, but Duke got screwed. Middays? people meter? Whatever. More like "put the old man in a place where he won't hurt us." Good luck to Dave sad it had to come as the end of an era for Duke. One last thing Title 29 Chapter 14 Section 632.
