10 AM on 96.9, and...

Well we'll see what happens. Maybe the Power format will ultimatelly last about 25 weeks
less than "Harbor" did. No FB or Twitter accounts yet (from what I can see, other than
the dummy one CBS apparently put up?)?

"More surprises to come in the next week."

Yeah, like maybe a new fan of "Power" tunes in only to hear Springsteen. Yeah, it could well be
the new format but I'm keeping my options open.

I don't think this is a stunt. I think it is sadly what the evolution of format flips has become. Uninteresting and uninspiring. Probably like the station will be. The trend continues in 2013. Why fight for a demo that is already too competitive and not really interested in what radio has to offer?

Gaffe 1200 had a site too I think (though they lasted a wk or so). But who knows!

You don't use an established format as a stunt. You put on something so outlandish that people can't take seriously but gets them talking. Maybe to you guys Urban is outlandish. But to the real world it's not.

EXACTLY! Im lol'ing here at people obviously not familiar with a REAL URBAN format. Now playing Aaliyah Rock the Boat. I think this station sounds great.

;D The people who like the format now don't believe it's a stunt, and the people don't like the new format saying it's stunt, how predictable... Wait and see but the signs are it's a stunt....

Another station dictated by Madison Avenue dogma -- radio for the demographic sweet spot: young, stupid and gullible with cash to spend foolishly. Great. ::)

can't hear it till after work. Here at my weekday job, we only get (Magic 106.7) on every radio in this Medical Practice

Heh. Switch it to 96.9 when no one is looking. :p Stunt or not I think you will like it Lauro

Apparently there are subcategories of thumping noises with subtle distinctions that requires a discerning ear to detect.

If this is legit, maybe CC will return the favor and flip 94.5 to talk! ::)

tweet from rbfgnc, not sure who his source is:
>>My source says they will do Rhythmic CHR, then Rhythmic AC, then finally Rhythmic Oldies, the permanent format.

That would be a more realistic format.

Sounds you're out of the demo. You sound like someone who thought rock and roll was "brash noise" back in the 60's and 70's...

ha I must be out of the demo too. Just like how, before the change to Amp, WODS was playing stuff like I Wanna Hold Your Hand; if you were 12 when that came out you're 60, going on 61, now. Pass the Geritol. (I was 2 when it came out, myself.)

>>Power 96.9 doesn't sound like a name for an oldies station. Is that a stunt, too?

If they did go to rhythmic oldies they could get another nickname easily enough. This is radio and what with the various shenanigans that go on, while we could say this is prob the new format, you never know.

"Hey...what happened to the Harbor? THEY JUST STARTED!" :)

If Cap'n Spackle is who I think he is, he'll be turning 61 in a couple weeks. (Howie...Howie!!!!)
but who knows

>>younger-leaning adult classic hits?

80s-90s-00s?

If I tune in to 96.9 on Fri and hear Bon Jovi a la the Hahbah... :)
