wondering when the new station will launch wonder what it might be. cause this classic rock stunt has been on for a day and a half now so my guess it shouldn't be too much longer unless there thinking about more stunts to do .
Didn't Cadillac Jack and Pebbles just start working for GM this morning? I would hardly expect them to jump right in with a new format hours after starting the job, regardless of how much preparation GM might have done. If Cadillac Jack is the new PD, he might want to have something to say about the new format before starting it up. And I would think Pebbles might need a few hours to familiarize herself with the studio and equipment. ;D

Yup, I'd say that's what everyone is missing here. I'd have to reread the Greater Media statement but I'm reasonably sure (only reasonably) it said that Pebbles starts with GM on Monday the 6th. It didn't say anything about an actual morning show starting today.
So you can all keep guessing and re-guessing and guessing again and re-posting what everyone else has already posted in this thread 20 times over but we have a long way to go before we get to a final format, folks.
My guess: Next Monday morning.
Don't forget, Cadillac Jack was hired by GM to oversee the programming of all of the cluster's stations (not just 96.9) as he was appointed director of programming. I'm sure that he'll be heavily involved with 96.9 but that will not be his primary duty..

Somewhere in the mess of mini-formats they should throw in "96.9 Boston-FM." Non-stop music from Boston-area artists and bands. The playlist would include Aerosmith, Boston, J. Geils, Billy Squier, Donna Summer, New Edition, The Cars, The Modern Lovers, The Pixies, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, The Dropkick Murphys, Guster, Dispatch, and more. I think that would be awesome as a buffer format for a few days, and not just a five-hour loop.
As far as an all-out format launch, I'm going to go with Friday at 6AM. Have Pebbles inaugurate the format, and run jockless and commerical-free with some promos from Pebbles, Melissa, and anyone else who'll be working at the new station. Maybe they can hire Baltazar...
