100.3 not going News/Talk!

If the AC thing happens,Kim A and Charlie Tuna should do mornings as well.As for nights,what could they bring in the line-up?Karen Sharp(KOST)is very difficult to beat.They should bring back the old moniker,"Lite 100.3"or"Sunny 100.3"!

I'm surprised they've let the jocks say there goodbyes. I heard the morning show signing off this morning and it was a little sad, but mostly funny. They made reference to someone going over to CBS. Im assuming The Wave, but didnt catch the name of the jock. Dont know of any others catching on with other stations as of yet.

If there is anything Bonneville knows its radio. They know how to outprogram Clear Channel, they have the money and they have the desire.

Bonneville is one of the BEST companies in america. To work for that company is an honor. Emmis, Maverick, Connoisseur, Bonneville, Great Plains, Mid West Family and Saga are the top of the top.

Bonneville will outspend KOST or KIIS. I dont care what format, they will program with excellence. Thats how they do things.

Bonneville will also make money. They dont have an underperforming station when it comes to revenue. All are consistantly up. Look at Mix Chicago, a station that really shouldnt be doing all that great in revenue is making a TON of money and is consistantly one of the top billers in the market.

WTMX is essentially tied with WGCI for #1 25-44 and 25-49 women. That's the biggest sales demo I can think of. I'd be surprised if they were not a really top biller.

Bonneville, while it has few underperformers, has some like every company. WILV has a 0.65 power radio, to cite one case. Or KTTH in Seattle, also with a 0.6 power ratio. WTWP in DC is on it's second format since WTOP very successfully moved to FM. Overall, they have more high performers than most, and always have since back when Arch Madsden ran the company.

The studio is built over the tar pits-I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

From the sounds of it, it seems that 100.3 LA and 95.7 SF are in the same building. Bonneville could not get anything going with that frequency. Maybe had they stayed with Z95.7 KZQZ, but they flipped too soon.

Only since 2003 has it been at the tar pits. Before that it was down the street on Wilshire and San Vicente. Prior to that it was in Glendale on Brand and Lexington. Before that it was in Burbank on Riverside and Olive. Dont know where it started before there but the location has nothing to do with it. For lack of a better term, just bad luck. It had relative succes the first year of Mega 100, then it was all down hill since 2000. I put in my time at that frequency for 5 years, and 5 company changes.
