100.5 Louie FM Format Switch?

I think moving the fox to 93.1 is coming back to haunt clear channel. I do like genx radio far better then what was there which was not good but since bain capital took over clear channel look at what they have done here in our city they have made 98.9 all piped in nothing local same with the fox it really is sad what has happenend to my stations hopefully djx will crush kiss!!!

Kiss has no local thing to them at all they better be careful.

You guys and gals thought clear channel was bad before they are horrible with bain capital:(

I REALLY enjoyed reading the Paul/Greg Hahn threads. Both are absolutely right on the money. The problem with Louie is it lost it's focus from when it signed on. In the beginning, Louie's playlist consisted of songs that stood the test of time. The problem is over the course of the format (especially the last two years) a lot of "crap" titles got in the database and squeezed a lot of classics out. Hairbands had NO business on an adult station serious about music/ratings. It became too classic rock leaning, too edgy for females with too many titles that adults were uncomfortable with. No way you could have the station on at work hearing "*** on feel the noize" by Quiet Riot.

Paul, you are dead on when you say formats get flipped too easy. Deregulation has happened. New frequencies are now established. No reason to keep switching and confusing listeners. They only want to hear a song they like with an announcer they are familiar/comfortable with and the least amount of intrusion. Sadly a lot of the pros that were in this market for years and years that had the local recognition have all been fired due to budget cuts and impatient programmers.

The new Gen X has a chance, but not sounding the way it does today. A LARGE percentage of titles on the station didn't test back then, they sure aren't going to test now.

Gen x is a pretty good station they play some great songs i disagree i think you are wrong they can do well as is for if change anything they will f it up.

Who give s a f about testing for a station like this if it charted play it simple as that for this station!!!

The gen x station is being programmed by someone cc hired from xm he seems to know what he is doing. They played jump by kris kross if they start going real safe and play what only tested well it will fail!!! A station like this needs a huge playlist not just top 10 songs no ifs ands or buts!!!

I wonder what happened at Louie FM. JJ Jackson told me that the station in Summer 2006 was #2 P25-54 and W25-54. Clear Channel doesn't have many Adult Hits/Variety Hits stations, but I thought that Louie FM was a strong station.

They had to spend all of Louie's TV money this year on WAMZ.

WAMZ seems to be trying really hard to counter QNU's attack and I'm loving the battle!
