Just notice Stunting Nelly "Hot In Here" and hearing to flip To CHR 100.7/105.7 Hot FM
Is there room in the Bay Area for another CHR station? There's NOW, Wild and in SF, KREV. How would a fourth one get enough ratings, especially from NOW and Wild which are already pretty popular?
KYLD's 65 dbu does not reach San Jose, and KMEL just barely does. KREV gets nowhere near Santa Clara County.
New CHR/Rhythmic format today at 5pm As Hot 105.7/100.7 FM
I lived in San Jose and had no problems getting Wild, NOW or KMEL, even on my tiny home radio. I can't get KREV, but from what I gather, no one listens to it even in SF. People down here seem to like local radio, Channel 92.3 was very popular. Plus, I suppose that further south SJ and below have trouble getting SF stations and may be more inclined to tune in 105.7. However, people in that area can pull in 102.5 from Salinas pretty well. Also, 105.7 has a simulcast in the North Bay, 100.7, which means it would be competing directly with NOW, Wild and KMEL.
It could be successful, but it seems doubtful to me.
What does everyone think of the new HOT 105.7/100.7? With Chuy Gomez back in the radio bringing a new station?
