Terre Haute 100.7 WMGI

Has anyone else noticed what appears to be some changes brewing in the Midwest Communications Terre Haute cluster?

There has been some chatter that 100.7 Mix-FM may be preparing to transition from its longtime CHR/Hot AC format to Classic Rock. As of today, Midwest's official station listings still show Mix-FM as CHR and 98.5 The River as Classic Rock, so nothing has been officially announced.

If a Classic Rock flip does happen, what do you think that means for 98.5 The River (WWVR)? Would The River take on a new format? Adult Hits? Classic Hits? Active Rock? Something completely different?

Curious to hear everyone's thoughts. Is this simply speculation, or do you think Midwest is setting up a larger realignment of the Terre Haute cluster?

That would be absolutely shocking, given that Midwest already owns The River, and with WWVR moving to the same tower as WMGI, there's not much of an upgrade if you moved The River to 100.7.

Midwest controls the market and can do whatever they want, but it's hard to imagine owning two rock stations would be more advantageous than one rock station plus the only pop station in the market.
