Does anyone remember anything about this apparent "takeover" at KTFM in mid 2001? This is behind a paywall, but is the only relevant result from Google. The title says the police were attracted to the station.
I remmeber pretty much only those 2 guys on-air playing nothing but hip-hop remixes, they seemed to really like this song.
They renamed it to "Wild 102.7". They stated "We have completely taken over this radio station." I find it hard to believe that they really did...
KTFM's owners wouldn't have let that happen. I'd imagine someone would turn off the transmiter or something if 2 randoms stole their station.
The two only had the station by themselves for a short while however; advertisers apparently were running away according to the small piece of the article I was able to read. Two months later it had returned to "KTFM", but the DJs stayed on for a bit, the two had an evening show known as "The Budman and Booger Show" with other guests coming in a lot.
LOL if that was a stunt, it was a good one. I listened to KTFM a lot then, it became my favorite station for a while. And then they pulled the plug a year or two later. Now it's just a robot named Jack haha.
