102.9 --What are the options?

PoWer 102.9 - Non Stop Hip Hop

What a joke. That's going to last about as long as 104.5 did. Hip hop is on a decline these days since the artists are losing ideas. No originality. That format is starting to sound weak.

104.5 was a lesson in how to blow cash fast, then settle down trying to get people to listen to a station that had a marginal signal in NOLA to begin with.

102.9 will have a money issue as I find Citadel doesn't get their stations names out there... and sometimes people flip around, some people don't and would take lots of promotion in the media (TV,billboard etc) to get known

Tooth dude, if you're going to use my material please give me some friggin credit for my brilliance. Look back on page 1. It says:

This time it'll be KMNT "Mint Julip" and it will be all the great songs of the south from the late 1800's. Hasn't ever been done before and it's yet another Citadel format of brilliant creativity and commitment to the community. It will not be consulted by LBJ, though it's understood that he has expressed his "interest and surprise" over the proposed content.

Now I don't need a lot in my poor life, but a little credit for a clever concept would be nice.

Peace out bro'.

Let's see how long this will last with it's signal aganist Q93

If programmed well to its main audience within the city, it can do well in spite of its small broadcast footprint.

Apples and oranges: Montgomery, AL's WJWZ "97-9 Jamz", a class A hip-hopper, has more than held its own against heritage urban WZHT "Hot 105.7" (licensed to Troy, AL), a 100kw class C that has the biggest protected contour of any station in Alabama.
