103.3 HD3

Does anyone listen to Mercy Rock? Then again, probably the only 2 listeners to the HD signal are on this site!

You know, just for $**t$ and giggles, why not put 50's, 60's and 70's as "Oldies 103.3" on the HD3, similar to what KRTH in Los Angeles with their HD2 as "K-Earth Classics"? Hey, it couldn't hurt and some people MAY buy some HD Radios for once. They've got the library and the jingle packages. Anything would be an improvement.

Very few of the people who lament the loss of the more recent Classic Hits version of WODS (late '60s, '70s, '80s) are even aware that they can hear the music playlist on WODS HD2, if they even know what an HD radio is.

It's like all the people who have been saying for three years that WBCN "died" in 2009 and have no idea that TWO WBCN's are on HD radio. A few listen to them online, but most think that they are no longer on the air in any form. Most of the nearly 5000 people who have joined the WBCN Facebook page think it's some sort of "tribute page" to the old WBCN, ignore the information and links to listen to the current online and HD radio versions, and just keep lamenting that it's "dead". Only about 100 people on average listen to the "WBCN Free Form Rock" stream, and far fewer to it on HD radio.

No one has posted on the (old) WODS Facebook page for a while, but most of them were just lamenting that they were "gone", and asking "what does HD2 mean"?

103.3 The Cove is playing nothing but IDs. Looks like they ran out of music :-(

I hope it doesn't revert to Christmas music

Relaaaaaxxxxx. There's nothing wrong with the station.

I have noticed that they show the names of the song and artists on the computer, but on the radio it says "I've Got You Babe" by UB40 over and over.

I hope they get around to fixing this , but at this point I'm just glad they're on.

Wonder how long the Christmas music will last now. CBS = Christmas Broadcasting Subchannels.

They played love songs leading up to Valentines Day, now that it passed, instead of Easter songs, it's back to Christmas music again. We skipped every holiday and went right to Christmas again.

AM Stereo? What's AM Stereo? HD is the AM Stereo of modern times. If the industry doesn't start doing a better job of promoting it (OTHER THAN their own air), it too will die. I enjoy the "deer in the headlights" look of the salesmen in Circuit City, Best Buy, and Rat Shack when they're asked about HD. Funny, I got the SAME look in the 80's when I asked about AM stereo! :) "DUHHH HUH? You mean FM?"

HD radio, AM stereo, quad FM

WLYN pulled the plug on AM stereo, several years ago. Quad FM long gone.
HD radio is on life support, as well. There is simply no need for it in the
current internet-connected world. Personally, I really like the free-form WBCN
stream, but I listen to it online, not via HD.

Yeah, pardon my late-night ramblings. :) I was trying to draw a parallel between AM Stereo and HD radio. Both great ideas, but if you're not going to create awareness about them, why bother? CBS doesn't seem to care; running Christmas music on their HD-3.

I'll bet that there are some listeners who WANT the Christmas music year 'round who are streaming it on their website (rather than listening on HD radio). Look at their website, the "Holiday" format (not "The Cove") is promoted for their HD3 stream!

They must have just changed that! As far as extreme niche formats go, I'd prefer 78rpm doo-wop "B" sides....but that's just me.

Just for fun, I checked the HD-3 online stream just now, and now The Cove is back, but the banner says "Eagles-Please Come Home For Christmas."

Really folks, how difficult is it to load a bunch of songs into a Winamp playlist and let it roll? No one has 15 minutes to spare to set this right?

I'm a little confused.
