103.7 The Band

6 tenths of a point 6+ is a nice move, but KTWV is still getting hammered by the competition in it's target demos. While I expect that will change you may be jumping the gun at this point. Stations sell based on how well their target demos do. 6+ is just like 12+, meaningless except for bragging rights. I see where Airpab made these same statements in another thread, calling The Wave's competition "boring". Man if you think KOST is boring then you'll really hate KTWV. The music has moved more mainstream, and the deejays are reading different cards, but it's a real snorefest on the Miracle mile. Very background with their sound.

On a separate note: When Aloha Trust ultimately spins off KFUX; will Clear Channel adopt that playlist or portions of and personalities to The Band. Frankly, that's a classic rock station I would miss assuming new owners make changes. Thoughts?

I said this last year: They should've done that from the beginning; instead of creating The Band and staffing it with voicetracked deejays from other Clear Channel stations, they should've just simulcast K-Fox. I don't personally like the right-leaning Greg Kihn but he would've been well-positioned between Lamont & Tonelli's juvenile frathouse antics and KFOG's Morey-less morning crew who are perceived (rightly or wrongly) as too-smart lefties. And it may yet happen, but meanwhile it seems like an awfully long time for The Band to be in a holding pattern, personality-wise.
