105 TURKEYS + HELICOPTER = FUN!

No, go back to radio 101. The higher a station's ratings, the higher the rate it can get for ads.
Do you think Magic is getting the same rate for a spot that KSSN is? Well, no, they're not,
and the reason is RATINGS. In the summer book, 25-54 persons, the top stations were
1)KSSN with a 12.5 share... 2) KURB with an 8.7 share... 3)KTBZ with a 6.3 share. Magic
had a 3.3 share... good enough for 12th place.

CC and Citadel in Little Rock spend over $250,000 a year for ratings info...that's how
important that information is! Magic is nowhere near the top in the key demo's, 25-54
persons, men, or women. When a national ad buy comes in, they want to see rankers
in those demos and they usually buy 2-3 stations deep. That means Magic is left OUT!
That's how it works.

I'm just glad that the people who have given up on 105 aren't running it.

We will make proper adjustments and WIN again! It might take time
but it WILL happen.

Again, ask the religious operators...If I'm a business, and I advertise on Magic, and I get customers who heard the spot, then I'm staying with them. If you don't have ratings, but get results...you can still win. Not disputing the numbers, just saying it isn't always about the raw rating numbers. Sure helps, but isn't always required. Again, I'll bet the 3.3 Magic has is very loyal. Would CC like higher numbers? Sure? can the station generate a positive cash flow with a 3.3? Apparently so.

WMC FM runs consistently back in the field in Memphis, but is usually one of the top three billers.

/Already been to radio 101. Passed with honors.

I'm so old I remember when there was no Magic 105. I give them this...they have held on a lot longer than anyone would have given them back in 79 or 80 whenever it was. But then again all stations come and go at some point so there will be an end of the road at some point. Who knows when it will be...I miss the days when radio was fun.

Re: Word has it, some really good changes are coming to KLAZ

In the past few weeks I've heard KLAZ. It's starting to sound more like top 40.
Give the MD time to adjust to the new changes. Although I do Agree, it used to sound like Jack.I hear they have a new GM from Little Rock. I think he will Steer KLAZ in the upwards direction. If you have not heard KLAZ in the past few months ,Try it again.......

They do have a new Gm....the same GM who didn't last one year, before he was removed from his position, at lowly Archway Broadcasting. Good luck KLAZ.....I wonder if he still has that baseball bat under his desk for unruly employees that he fires for fun.....
