For the duration of the "chocolate and shoes radio" bit, that's about how...

Who said there'll be a 5:15 announcement?wpb1999 said:That doesn't make sense, though I have long pushed for 105.7 sports.
So, it is 5:15...... where is this announcement?
So much for the credibilty of their new hires. CNN never does let the facts get in the way of a good story.wpb1999 said:No one said their would be, but one of their editors, Ninette Sosa, from CNN, said that a launch date was coming today,

But, wait! Was that "mid May, 2012"?![]()
BarryATL said:The launch could be sooner. CBS ran trial in-house broadcasts for WNEW three days before going live. Merlin just went live in Chicago, which was a big mistake (there are some really bad air checks floating around). Merlin in NYC did in-house trials, but I do not know for how long.
One way or the other, from the tweet that EJM posted, it would appear we will hear something about a go live date later today.
BarryATL said:I know that when WNEW went live in December, they just did not do much live stuff for the first couple of weeks. It was all they could handle to just keep the newscast running with copy. After the first couple of weeks they slowly started adding additional elements to the newscast. The live from the field folks did not happen until a couple of months after go-live.

We actually went live in late January, and we did have live reporters right off the bat. We did, however, experience some Comrex issues and initial bugs in the field software, so we were limited to phone reports for a bit. The glitches have mostly resolved themselves, and our reporters are on it now.
