Well, that depends on where you are. I get 106.9 better than 107.5, but I am north of the Beltway. Now if we're talking technically, KHPT runs 91.6kW at a height of just over 1,800 feet. KGLK operates at 95kW at almost 2,000 feet. KGLK does cover more surface area than KHPT does in that regard, However, KGLK's signal covers a lot of open water in the Gulf whereas KHPT's local coverage area is completely over land. Development keeps reaching further and further north up I-45 so KHPT could potentially service millions more people in the future than it does now, while KGLK doesn't share the same potential for the levels of population growth in its main service area.
I guess I can go with the fact that KGLK was once before classic rock as KZFX and 93.7 did have some effect on Z-107's demise, so my nostalgic side can be satisfied. I just think it would be neat if Cox and The Zone could beat The Buzz with the very signal that Clear Channel's Buzz abandoned for the stronger citygrade 94.5 some 10 years ago.
Since the station has moved away from the Alternative club music, I'll take back my request for Info. Society, but I've got to ask how they could forget about adding Limp Bizkit to the playlist. Not even one song, and let me tell you, I blame it all on the nookie.
