Call me when someone has a price for this turkey.

So they are running PI spots for credit counseling and the trade spots for the 1900 Building (Prestige Business Centers). I only stop in for a minute or two every now and then, but if they had any advertisers I think I'd hear more than just those. You can't build your billings without a sales force. You can't keep hiring and firing sales people every few months. You can't build an audience by broadcasting what ever free programming that's lying around unclaimed by anyone else. Liz Literello didn't have a call in show to compete with Bill Mick in the morning because telephone lines cost money. And last I heard, they were closing the Suntree sales office and moving everything to the Mims building where that big Harris transmitter lies silent these days. Can you imagine inviting a client to the Mims building to show them around and have them record their spots? If you listen closely as you walk the path to the building you can hear banjo music playing off in the weeds.
Stories are flying around fast and furious now about where it is all headed. I don't think things can continue this way for very long. I expect the station to be sold in a fire sale. Wish I had a few pennies lying around, I think it could be had for a song.

I wonder how hard it was to talk Bruce into that? It sounds great, but it is the wee hours.

I can imagine that it was a battle with BM to get the Christmas music on the overnights. If Greg was smart, he would push for a 24-hour run on Christmas day since, we all know all the talk shows will be running best-of that day. So, he might as well make the best of the music run while he has the authority to air it.

That sounds very good. Many of the music stations will be airing 36 and 48 hours of continuous Christmas music Christmas Eve and Christmas day, so why not 1060? There are always local sponsors in the area that will glady sponsor the Christmas Music marathon, so that would be one way to get short term cash while providing a service to the community.

Great idea although perhaps a little hard to sell the package since it is only a week before Christsmas. I guess if they send their entire sales force out into the field asap they could probably pull it off. But....wait....they dont have a sales force :
Merry Christmas!

I don't know all the players and the agendas. Obviously a few with a preoccupation over some old issues but I'm not sure what's for real and what's just board drama. Good grief, for a station with no listeners and no impact wixc is always the hottest topic on the Orlando board which speaks volumes about Orlando Radio.
And not that it matters but reguarding all the "documentation" of Genesis being in Atlanta, it is accurate that Genesis sold their Atlanta property over ten years ago. Like a lot of stuff on the internet, things get posted and don't get updated. But as it turns out a former employee has told me when Maduri sold Atlanta he had appreciated the GM and bookkeeper of that property and kept them on with an Atlanta office to make payroll and pay the bills. So checks came out of Atlanta for years including payroll. That office is shut down, there is no phone answered in Atlanta with Genesis or Starter. Maduri is at WWBA, and that address is the headquarters and bills are paid from Tampa now.
Now that this is crucial, but in the 44 pages of posts for wixc, some posts have had inaccurate information even though strongly presented by posters at times, so I don't know what to believe.
Here's a thought. If wixc went off the air altogether tomorrow, would anybody care.? And let's hear about the lawsuits. I don't know the whole story but this year several company's cut loose staff who didn't produce enough to cover their salary. I can't imagine in today's world any owner firing a person who was delivering or exceeding budget but there seems to be enough folks with a wixc axe to grind to maybe make this into a reality show on cable.
