Hey 954 - I keep forgetting to scan 107.1 while I'm in my car driving all around Homestead. Of course with such a weak signal I doubt I'll pick it up from way down here, but I haven't even tried yet. Tomorrow I'm driving up to Miami International Aeropuerto. I'm flying to Dallas for the weekend. If I remember to do so I'll give it a shot as I get closer to Miami. I shall pass on my findings once I return to the board on Sunday night.
Major, you can hear 107.1FM on the internet on www.1club.fm or internet mobile at www.1club.fm/m I hear it in the car all the time on the internet using verizon unlimited verizon broadband and an FM modulator.
I've heard great things about KHKS, and from that, I think you'll definitely enjoy the station, Major!
So here I am drivin around Sunday in the Villager. I decided to jump on the 107.1 bandwagon and check those muthas out. I don't know what you people are tunin into, but I had some lady doing the Creole thing...LOUD AND PROUD!! I guess 107.1 is the Pirate Dejur frequency. If I ever choose to cross the border into Countees El Meeamee-Dades, i'll give it another shot.
Before this, my only run-in with Creole was a nice little dish mama used to make under the moniker "Shrimp Creole", and the only thing it ever said to me was EAT UP!

Anyway they are a gospel station (that also airs Creole programming), so you may have actually picked-up that station depending on how far north you were. It's signal (believe it or not) can reach the outskirts of Boynton Beach to the south and Jupiter to the north. Of course there are other pirates that love the 107.1 frequency here in the Pirates Of The Caribbean & South Florida. XM & Sirius listeners tend to use 107.1 down here as well as a favourite frequency to broadcast the signal within their vehicle (and beyond).

To get the official spelling if it's Kreyol or Creole, I walked next door to my Hatian neighbors house and asked him. His reply: "Turn on 107.1 and i'll answer that!"

HA-HA-HA ! I think you just found your next big opportunity in radio ! Ask your Haitian neighbours if you can take the 6 to 10 slot and show them your great big record album collection ! If you get the gig then I'll drive up-and-down I-595 and listen in !
