Let’s make some other speculations beside a KSTE simulcast that also sound silly…
How about a K108 rebirth, lol

How would you do that if you were running dummy call letters to throw off competitors and stunting?I’m starting to think it won’t be The Bull. Seems like they would have started migrating listeners over from 107.1 if that was the case.
Quite the valid point, Michael. How would you do that if you were running dummy call letters to throw off competitors and stunting?
Yeah, and I totally understand what you're saying (we've been having this conversation for a month or more). The only point where we really differ is how much weight iHeart gives to the existence of KNTY. I really don't think it's a consideration to them. If (big IF) it's Country, it's about clearing Bobby Bones and peeling off enough of KNCI's audience to generate enough revenue to get to a gross and net income number they like this year.Quite the valid point, Michael.
It would be interesting if they did move the Bull. I wonder how successful they would be at trying to grab some of the $4 million revenue and 260,000 cume from KNCI, especially with a Classic Country station in the market. The County life group is only so big and based on migration from the Bay Area and conservatives moving out of state, getting smaller.
I’ve thought about that and iHeart owns the name. The only issue is the one that came up years ago, KISS FM sounds too much like KSFM and 102.5 has had those calls since 1974. Before that KSFM was on 96.9.Kiss-branded Hot AC? There is a lot of room between KYMX and KZZO musically these days. And KUDL does not look strong (6+ anyway... I know I know). How is Hot AC doing these days in nearby markets?
And do what with it?If only Bill Drake was still here to program this station and frequency again.
I was thinking punk country…Someone just sent me the link to this thread, so I thought I'd login and post for the first time in 12 years to recommend they go Christian Polka. 1079TheHolyAccordion.com is available. Probably.
Considering how much else in that little audio play has come true in the last 45 years (Radio Disney, Pride Radio, potentially deadly contests), why not?I was thinking punk country…
K-9 KID RADIO!!!I was thinking punk country…
Absolutely a magic time with the music and an Absolutely amazing time for the choices he made for the personalities that added to that time! And all of us were there to enjoy it all. Again an absolutely amazing time to have been there to experience the blending of it all. Let's not forget the contributions Ron Jacobs made to the magic. And do what with it?
Drake himself said it---he was lucky he launched Boss Radio when the Beatles, the Beach Boys and Motown were all having their moments.
Let's remember K-100, which despite Drake, Robert W. Morgan and The Real Don Steele, didn't do all that well. In the little bit of correspondence I had with Bill 20 or so years ago, he acknowledged that it was a lot harder trying to make radio magic with John Denver, Olivia Newton-John and Helen Reddy.
And let's not forget the contributions of Tom Rounds in San Francisco, too. And Rounds got Jacobs and Casey to join him in the creation of AT40. Magic names, and two were good friends.Absolutely a magic time with the music and an Absolutely amazing time for the choices he made for the personalities that added to that time!
