107.9 Sacramento

5pm seemed to fly by with no change. Maybe a flip on Monday?
What's the first day of the next rating period? Might as well start out with a full month's worth of numbers to show prospective advertisers and agencies, providing the format chosen is some sort of music and this stunt is followed by thousands of songs commmercial free to get the station going.

June 2022 survey period = Thu. May 26 to Wed. June 22

Thus, we are in Day 2 of the June period as of this writing.
If they indeed go with a music format and 10,000 commercial-free songs (spins/plays, really),
ratings won't matter *that* much initially as they wouldn't be selling ad time for about a month.
Then the added variable that they have to get the public to know the station even exists.

Other launches/flips have occurred mid-survey period;
it doesn't seem to be too important to management.

50 and Bradshaw signal is terrible. I wonder if someone has been using 107.9 for personal devices in that area and it's interfering.
I have your info. I believe you'll find the interference is coming from the Sacramento Six Drive in theater complex. The theater uses various frequencies for transmission of movie audio to their customers car radios. The problem is they leave the transmitters on 24/7. I've always wondered how they get away with this. 95.3 is another channel they use.

Some good ones today -
“Southern Cross” CSN
“Got A Hold On Me” Christine McVie
“Day After Day” Badfinger
“You Can Call Me Al” Paul Simon

By no means are these deep tracks, but I haven’t heard on the radio in 20+ years.

Lance has an updated article with all the different formats so far with the listeners allowed to "vote" for their favorite.

The only choices that look like permanent formats are Top 40, Country and Christian. Maybe Spanish Top 40, too, but how many votes for that do they expect to get when all the stunting so far has been in English? All the other options look more like potential weekend specials rather than actual formats.

If every format on the list gets it day, then we still have coming up: Motown, Comedy, Kid Songs, Disney Songs, 70's Songs. That would be at least 5 more days of stunting.
