1070--Is Anyone Minding the Store??

Jeff should only change to oldies if he wants 6 to 8 times more listeners. It's people over 40 who use AM.
Might as well make them happy.

1070 [WIBC] might dabble in an oldies format [as suggested by Bob]... Sports is well-covered by 1260 WNDE... Yep, 101.9 is trying to cover that genre – with minimal results. Listening to 101.9, I don’t sense a “corporate commitment” to the format. – despite the addition of Jeff Pigeon to the schedule... Scott R is a true pro, but it ISN’T WORKING... There’s NO “energy” at 101.9! "Ownership" may be the reason.

“WFNI” 10-70—golly-Miss-Mollie—that’s sacrilege!... I can't get used to those calls on that "heritage" frequency. “The Fan” will best WNDE in the ARBs – it’s a 50kw facility for goodness sake... And it’s the Cowherd station—but little more. BTW, I thought the Colts were on WNDE’s FM partner—Q-95... I don’t live in Indy, so am I “behind the curve” on local radio happenings?

Q95 hasn't had the Colts for 2 full seasons. WFNI and WLHK simulcast the games as the flagship.

Noted, PT -THANKS!

If you hear The Beatles sing The Happiest Girl in the Whole U.S.A., take the thing back.

This post by hipporadio got me thinking so I looked it up. So far WNDE has beaten WFNI every book and every trend since WFNI went on the air. for all the promotion and hype and even a statement in the local newspaper by the VP/GM of Emmis Indianapolis that WFNI would dominate WNDE and WXLW, even to the point he suggested WNDE should throw in the towel right then and there (in the first week WFNI was on the air), WFNI has not been able to make any gains against WNDE, and it appears WNDE's afternoon live sports show with John Michael has actually grown its ratings slightly since WFNI was born and pitted Eddie White and Bob Kravitz against them.

unless lower numbers mean beating wfni. WFNI has been beating WNDE in most books except this current book which WNDE and WFNI tied. go look at the ratings page here on radio info

The ratings page here only has 12+.

Anyone actually in radio knows that 12+ means virtually nothing.

I get to see the demo breakouts.

That's where the real story is.
