107.9 covers everything that matters monetarily to the advertising department at WBT and to advertisers. This has been said at least once before in this thread. what do people not understand?
You are unfortunately right.

Of course you're right, Paul. But is a 50kw AM totally worthless? Some of my local friends have suggested they pair it with a translator, but 100.9/1110 would be a better pair than a translator. But until they do something, it's a moot point. Will it be urban talk (as i later predicted), sports (as i earlier thought), national syndicated talk, or something completely different? R1 owns some spanish-language stations, so that's always a possibility. But this redirect roll has certainly served its purpose. Or at least it would seem that it has. Is there a possibility that the loop is still serving to direct listeners to 107.9? To us "radio nerds" it's a waste of a station. Could we be wrong?107.9 covers everything that matters

The property tax bill for the WBT tower site property was billed at over $27,000
I still like the music but if I'm hearing the same songs, I'll just go back to whatever else there is.To us "radio nerds" it's a waste of a station. Could we be wrong?
I don't know if I'm allowed to link to the site where I get Nielsen ratings, but nothing is shown for WBT-FM.
They show the past ratings of WLNK, which is useful, since this shows how far that station has fallen with the frequency change.
WBT-AM is shown but ever since the loop began, no one is listening.

Wish I could be surprised, but here I am still commenting on this thread... 😅It drummed up 58 pages' worth of attention here ...![]()
The problem is that if WBT does come back, there is no one listening to the AM band to be able to find it.
Down the road in Greenville-Spartanburg, that’s been the case since 2008. AM is an absolute wasteland of 5kw signals at bad dial positions. Almost all that have anything relevant broadcasting have added translators that are way more receivable than the AMs.Which is rapidly becoming the case more frequently, in more markets.
well as mentioned before, this isn't really a stunt, nor was it designed to drum-up interest for 1110Meanwhile, I thought stunting was supposed to drum up attention. What a waste!
if or when something new happens on 1110 they'll have to spend a lot of money advertising it outside of the AM band to get anybody there. if they had something amazing to offer that could generate big numbers they'd still have to generate interest. they'll have to find something, some stunt or something, that would get people to sample 1110 again. would an elaborate april fools day stunt generate enough free publicity? The problem is that if WBT does come back, there is no one listening to the AM band to be able to find it.

Some here (not you) will say AM is become a wasteland out of one side of their mouth then youve got others thinking jazz on AM is a good idea for a station running Salems bottom of the barrel conservative talk
