I've heard it on WERT.'S Wonderful was recorded by Ray Conniff & Singers 'bout 1957 or so.
A "station ID" is only the place where the calls and city of license are mentioned. The rest of a station's imaging may or may not include the call letters, but unless they are in the singly hourly mention done exclusively to comply with the FCC, they are not station IDs.I've heard it on WERT.
One more thing. The recorded voice doing the station ID's (which don't include call letters any more except at the top of the hour) said less talk means more music.
I hope they keep the Adult Standards format going. XM radio doesn't have anything like this.
And even if they don't there must be a way to stream so you don't have to be local. This is better than anything I've found online so far.I hope they keep the Adult Standards format going. XM radio doesn't have anything like this.

I've been listening to WERT but I'll try it sometime. Not quite like WHVN but when they aren't doing talk point your browser to WEBRradio.com The mix is a little different but still nice. See what you think. It's a small operation owned by a Taxi cab company in Buffalo (Licensed to Niagara Falls, NY).
What I'm curious about is that we were told for years that they have to pay for music royalties and that's what the fund-raisers are for. Unless people are just going ahead and sending in money, I don't see how they can keep playing music.Yep new owners seem to be in no hurry to take it over. The chief operator has been told to just keep it running until he hears otherwise. After that GHB still has one station left which is under an LMA 106.1 FM. That one will eventually be sold.
EVen talk stations pay music licensing, for bumpers and stuff they play....... its just less. Whatever theyre paying for music licensing on 1240 is a drop in the bucket to them. What I'm curious about is that we were told for years that they have to pay for music royalties and that's what the fund-raisers are for. I'm surprised the Spanish-speaking broadcaster hasn't bought 106.1 already.
