The bottom line was that Orangebloods was the main reason they were able to stay with the sports format for so long. The station was essentially Orangebloods radio and I think they propped it up financially a little bit or at least helped with some co-op sales. Erin Hogan was (is) the PD but I think that Ketch was able to use a lot of influence to get things done how he wanted them. Not that it was a bad thing. They had the most local content and spent more time talking about the Longhorns then the Longhorn Station did. The problem was that UT Athletics does not like Orangebloods at all and would have had them banished from the kingdom if they could which caused a lot of tension. So, when Border started divesting of stations and this group of investors came in (4 guys I think) one of two things happened: either the new owners were close to the UT program and got rid of Orangebloods at UT's behest or they just didn't want to share the decision making with the Orangebloods folks. Sean Adams by the way had just not too long ago switched from writing for Orangebloods to writing for ESPN.com so that kept him off the chopping block. Not sure why Chance Mock was let go. I don't believe he was affiliated with Orangebloods directly. As for the new lineup, part of the deal they had with ESPN was to clear ESPN Deportes and the regular ESPN programming which they had been doing with 1530 and 1260, but now they only have 1260 so I think they are airing Mike and Mike and Cowherd to try and appease ESPN. It remains to be seen what will happen with that contract.
