Oh, on the 1270-directed-to-WDLR/1550 site linked above, the streaming audio is local...not just the "True Oldies Channel" bird feed. I'm hearing local liners for 1270.

Why would they want to do that? WUCO stands for Union COunty...get it? St. Gabriel didn't want to be associated with Union County when they were IN Union County. And why would Litton change those heritage calls to WQTT? What does WQTT stand for, anyway? We Quit Talking in Tongues?
And St. Gabe will never be able to purchase WVKO. They can barely make the LMA payments, although the money they get from the WUCO sale will keep them afloat for awhile. Until, that is, a legit buyer comes along, which one will eventually.

They can call themselves anything they want as long as they identify at the top of the hour as WUCO. I too worked for Mark Litton and Robb Case in the early 90's at Hot-105 and KISS-FM. I found them to be good, competitive/cutting edge operators.

CatFM said:The proposed buyer of WUCO is ICS, which is the owner of WDLR, so there is your connection. ICS also owns WVXG Mt. Gilead.
gabigley1 said:Apparently the sale of WUCO 1270 AM from St. Gabriel Catholic Radio to ICS is off. Last Friday, St. Gabriel Catholic Radio filed a Notification of Non-consummation with the FCC.
gabigley1 said:Nothing for sure now BUT they say WUCO is again for sell. At present it is still Oldies and they(St Gabriel Catholic Radio) still have a LMA with ICS.
What is interesting is that ICS is airing announcements on WUCO 1270 where they are asking their listeners on input for future local programing,
like local Marysville High School sports programing.

Does this mean its reverted back to Catholic programming? or is the oldies still going?
CaptBob92 said:They were probably on the night pattern ( 2 towers ) it protects WXYT to the North in Detroit but is pretty much open in all other directions, If they were on day pattern you would not have gotten it that far away as they us seven towers on days to protect a station to the East in Cambridge that's assuming that station is still on. I ran a proof on the day pattern in 1999 and found little to the South East. Night time though was another story.
