It's called research.... you can play stuff for people in a music test and it will get a reaction of "I hate that song".... happens more with novelty-type records that got overplayed and burned out during their heyday. And the consultants who do the tests pretty much know which ones they are.

From 1969 to 1976 or so WZUM 1590 Had Polka's Mon thru Fri 6am to 10am, Three Major Sponcers were Ohio Valley Provision Co., Arsnel Meats and National record Mart. The North Huntindon public works Gargage had WZUM Polka's airing on the PA System Everyday. WPSL 1510 also had Polka's Mon Thru Fri From 3:00pm to 4:00pm. Sat 11to 12 noon With Frank Powalski, Followed By Charlie Apple. Both these shows got plenty of Letters And Phone Requests,I had the Pleasure of Doing the 3p to 4p show From 1976 to 1977.

This is why 1360 would have been a good faclity for Eddie Edwards. Not as good as 660 in terms of daytime signal, but at least it's got SOME nighttime capability.

Renda wanted more than $500K for it (that's what Eddie paid for 660)? If that's the case either Tony is crazy, or Ron Morris is paying way too much for that brokered time....

Change the calls back to WIXZ, resurrect the "thirteen-sixty, WIX-ZEE radio"
jingles, and hire a blast from the past to voicetrack AM drive...Jeff Christie. <grin>
 
And some people think my posts are dealing with fantasy radio!!!!!!!!!!. Alan Colmes could do PM Drive like he did when WNBC signed off. Maybe Jeff Christie and Alan Colmes could argue a lot.
 
I thought Alan Colmes was through arguing with conservatives for a living!

Regardless, I will say that Alan Colmes was my favorite of the WPTT weekday talk show hosts prior to the format change.

He always had a good, lively show and he usually got some decent guests as well.
 
It goes sumptin like this:

1) 5:30------Jeff and Sarah ( She wants to in media supposedly) show.

2) 10:00-----Soupy Sales

3) 3:00-------Alan Colmes

4) 7:00--------Best of Terry Lee

5) 12:00-------All night Elvis. ( no DJ)
 
And locate the studio at the legendary KQV "Win-DAH On DAHN-Tawn" location!
