I am truly perplexed at this move. I agree with the simulcast and getting WVOC's content on FM. But WVOC-AM has been around forever. Fully replacing it with sports, especially this soon, makes no sense to me. But of course I recognize they didn't ask me.

What do they gain if they keep simulcasting ?
Is there anywhere that the AM reaches where the FM can't?

See my above question.

WVOC lost all of S.C. from US601 East to the coast due to Lake City's 101.1 Sports Station on the channel. I hope Miller will pickup the WVOC morning news to fill the void in current news. Miller(1240 with 105.9 "booster") has all the talk radio segments on the networks but we lost the local updates mornings in the midlands. Maybe WVOC will place the morning news(6-9:00) back on AM 560kc. soon. Maybe...... :(

94.3 in the Santee area. 560 does have a monster signal. I've heard it on my radio on James Island, with little interference, just weaker because of the distance involved. It comes in clear enough to understand what they are talking about.

94.3 comes in some of the time but I have heard complaints about not being able to listen to Rush and the crew most of the time when in doors. I thought about it a year and a half ago but never went any further.

Finally, another Gospel station in the metro.. Way to go Clear Channel.. Maybe Glory Communications will WAKE UP now with all the riduculous simulcasting all over the state..The music and Imaging are on point. Egos will start to diminish in a BIG way now!!

560 has a monster signal during the day. After sunset, the station goes directional to protect Miami and Philly and the coverage area becomes more like a Schmoo.

For those keeping track, 560 is now WXBT.

You mean 100.1.
