144 is streaming 143

I was very disappointed to hear Sirius Left streaming on 144 this morning. I was hoping, really hoping, that Sirius was working on developing a new liberal talk channel to balance the three conservative talk channels they have (Right, Patriot and ABC Talk).

They still may be doing so. A reply I got from Sirius today was very vague ...

Thank you for your recent email. We appreciate the time you have taken
to contact us, and will gladly address your concerns regarding the
programming on Air America // Channel 144. We regretfully inform you
that Air America programming will no longer be available on SIRIUS,
however, we're thrilled to announce that we are currently working to
develop an exciting new programming lineup for SIRIUS Channel 144. We
suggest you visit our website regularly for exciting new additions to
our programming!

You're the reason we're here, and that's why we always love hearing
feedback concerning our services. We feel that communication with our
listeners is imperative to ensure proper customer satisfaction, as
knowing precisely what our listeners want is the first step in allowing
us to provide that programming. Your concerns for the future of
progressive talk programming on SIRIUS are appreciated, and have been
forwarded to our Talk & Entertainment programming team.

Though they say they are "working to develop and exciting new programming lineup for Sirius Channel 144," they say nothing about it being a liberal talker. That makes me think it won't be. In fact, it's location on the dial (right next to Maxim Radio) makes me think they're grooming it to be Howard Stern's channel. Is that the "exciting new programming" they are working on?

I hope, at the very minimum, they find a place to air Stephanie Miller's full show live.

I'm hanging onto my Sirius radio for now. But if nothing happens on 144 in a few weeks ...

They would be fools to *not* program 144 with a liberal lineup, especially since there are a lot of programs they could carry.

The full Stephanie Miller show
The full Thom Hartmann show
The guys from Take Back The Media (Symbolman and American Stranger)
Democracy Now!
Tony Trupiano (not on my "A" list, but nothing to sneeze at)
Al Martin (could be a late-night potboiler)
Peter Werbe
Lizz Winstead, for crissakes!
